Eastern influenced electronic experiments from Benoit B

 Benoit B - Japonaiserie

Banlieue Records boss Benoit B recently dropped a mini-LP of Eastern-influenced electronic experiments. ‘Japonaiserie’ was the term the Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh used to express the influence of Japanese art. But on his new EP Benoit looks to Japanese electronic artists of the 80s like Yellow Magic Orchestra and Hiroshi Yoshimura for inspiration. A combination of serene ambient pieces, and brooding, bass soundscapes let Benoit B take you through the genius that is ‘Japonaiserie’ below.

1. Tokyo Hi Life
2. Compassion & Release
3. Far Distant Star System
4. 100 Echoes
Side 2
1. Les Pays Exterieurs
2. Electric Town
3. Wet Cellophane

Released January 12th, 2018
