After selling out King’s Place for the launch of her exquisite album La Saboteuse last year, and then Jazz In The Round in January, trumpeter and composer Yazz Ahmed joins Música Macondo for her biggest headline show to date at the Jazz Cafe.
With La Saboteuse, Ahmed has taken a further step in a musical journey that embraces her Bahraini roots alongside the new moves and grooves of todays jazz radicals. Undulating rhythms and melody resonant with the sounds and sensations of the Middle East, and her own sonorous trumpet lines, combine in music of cinematic breadth.
Joining her on the bill is south London multi-instrumentalist Leifur James.
To get you in the mood watch Ahmed’s live session at last years Turning East festival in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
