Jack Wilkins‘ highly sought-after album ‘Windows’ finally gets reissued on vinyl

Jack Wilkins

Recorded in 1973 at New York’s Record Plant studios Jack Wilkins‘ highly sought-after Mainstream Records album ‘Windows’ finally gets reissued on vinyl on Wewantsounds forty-five years after its initial release. Produced by Bob Shad in 1973 the album, which is on many collectors‘ want-list, is especially cult for his rendition of Freddie Hubbard’s classic “Red Clay,” sampled by A Tribe Called Quest on (“Sucka Nigga“) and Chance The Rapper. The album will be released in a deluxe gatefold sleeve featuring never-seen session photos and new liner notes by leading UK journalist and radio DJ Kevin Le Gendre.

Pre-order a copy of the album here ahead of its 28th September release, listen to ‘Red Clay’ below.
